Infinity’s ERP solution provided a major automotive parts manufacturer with a web based automated sales management tool. The solution manages all their key business processes in a fully integrated and globally visible system. This gives them real-time control of their purchase and sales order processing, dispatch and shipment of goods, goods received, invoice generation and account handling.
This automotive parts manufacturer has a particularly complex supply chain with parts being produced both in the UK and in the Czech Republic. The two factories were working independently of each other and were accepting orders, shipping goods and issuing sales invoices separately. In a move towards a more effective business model the decision was made to centralise the order processing and invoicing functions.
A new company was formed for managing the centralised sales processes in November 2004 at a site in Belgium. A key requirement for this new sales company was a software solution which would effectively manage the sales process from a central access point. The system needed to provide visibility, control and overall management of the whole sales order process – from receipt of the order to final invoice generation – for both the UK and Czech Republic manufacturing plants.
Infinity’s ERP system for managing the centralised sales order processing consists of modules that provide functions for sales order processing, order tracking and self-billing.
The system processes each order, sending the purchase order to the appropriate factory in either the UK or the Czech Republic. As each order is filled, the shipping information from the factories is entered into the ERP system. This allows real-time order tracking at the sales department end. A goods received function was also included in the ERP system. This provides integrated invoice generation for both the customer and the producing factory, with a self-billing facility.
